Thankful…Every Day??

"Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it." -- Arthur Ward

Let's face it, nowadays there is not a whole lot of focus on what we are grateful for. And for good reason as the world is, let's say, interesting at the moment.

We can guarantee that there will be bad news every day until we are no longer here. Television and social media will make sure that we don't miss out on it.

But what if media could focus a little more on what we have to be thankful for? What if we could give this gift of gratitude more than once a year?

Hey, I'm guilty! I'm writing this post the day before Thanksgiving.

We are thankful to every one who has read this post and the posts throughout the year. Maybe you can help us unwrap the present that is gratitude a few more times a year!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Leave The Frauds In Our Dust!!

"The counterfeit innovator is wildly self-confident. The real one is scared to death." -- Steven Pressfield, The War of Art

The fraudulent use over-confidence to mask the inability to be original, so they become con-artists, smooth salesmen, or politicians.

The true creator uses so much of her mind that she thinks of every possible scenario and ends up wrapping herself in a twist.

Occasionally we come across an innovator that pushes through the fright of the unknown and that's when we get a trailblazer!

It's time for the creative and the innovative to push through the trepidation. To get past the natural insecurity brought on by a thinker's mind and take over the world!

Let's leave the fakes in the dust!!

The Winds of Change??? We hope!!

Wind is a force of nature that is both very necessary and very dangerous...

The wind beneath our wings can lift us to great heights. We go can so much faster and further with the wind! The wind gives us electricity in a way that is friendly to our planet and we can see more of our planet because of it.

If it weren't for the wind, sails would have never been invented. Therefore America and many other places would possibly have never been discovered.

The wind is a glorious phenomenon, but one that has been very cruel to our country and others as of late.

It has caused storm after storm that has hurt and crippled beautiful parts of our country. It has swept a fire through the other equally as beautiful side of our land.

This necessary force of nature has not been kind.

With all this wind our country has experienced recently, one can only hope it's the planet's way of telling us that the wind necessary to our society are the winds of change.

We seemed to have been heading in the right direction, but now the winds have changed on us. The question is, do we as people have the ability to adjust the sails ...  together?

Mother Nature; Beautiful and Dangerous!

"Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth." -- Henry David Thoreau

I have always been lucky enough to live somewhere that goes through all seasons. We all have our favorites and each one brings upon us different tastes and smells and feelings of nostalgia.

To revel in each season's change is a truly wonderful thing that we should take advantage of EVERY time!!! As we have seen from this past storm season, sometimes we are lucky to get to the next season..

Earth's beauty and danger are, unfortunately, a package deal. We enjoy Mother Nature's beauty while contending with her grumpiness.

Look no further than what those storms did to some of the world's most beautiful places.

So along with enjoying the seasons and resigning ourselves to Earth's influence let's remember that WE are one of the most beautiful things put on Earth!!

We have the ability  to influence the World and help each other get through each season and welcome the next!

What is it Good For??

"War does not determine who is right, only who is left." -- Bertrand Russell

Cleverer words were never spoken...

At a time when we are being constantly berated by the beautiful, yet sometimes very angry Mother Nature we'd love to be able to at least count on humanity. And we have, but not ALL of it!!

People have been hunkering down in the foxholes they call their homes, defending against Mother Nature's attack. Now they have an even more dangerous, man-made threat to distress over.

In a world that seems to be run by unbalanced and egotistical maniacs, we need words like Bertrand's to make us laugh and think.

Laughter and thought, what a combo!!

So let's help each other think and laugh. Let's make sure to help someone experience beauty in a time where it might be difficult to find and hope that we are all left to talk about it!

We’ll Sing with the Birds After the Storm!

"Birds sing after a storm; why shouldn't people feel as free to delight in whatever sunlight remains to them." -- Rose Kennedy

This is a lovely idea in theory.  Unfortunately Harvey and the ominous thought of Irma have taken away most people's reason to delight in the remaining sunlight.

But as Houston has shown us, people are strong, this country is strong!!

I hope everything comes out smelling likes roses when it's all said and done. Or maybe she'll weaken or take a turn. Either way I hope to hear the birds singing to the heavens.

One guarantee is that my very musical family in Florida will be singing louder than any of the birds once this all finally passes!

For now we can just pray and prepare, and hope to once again delight in the sunshine!!
